So Plot the rumour is true!!!! Have you any idea what this will do to Jasmine's reputation, especially amongst her family at home?

I do hope that the trip to Cheltenham did enable you to patch up your relationship with your friend whose name ends in O.

Vincent stopped sulking when I explained that the good Dr M was going to try and clone Plot for her. She also wants to say sorry to Mrs Plot and hopes that she hasn't got Plot in trouble. I did explain that Plot and Mrs Plot have an arrangement and not to worry.
She has vowed to be a fan and not a fanatic but still hopes to meet Plot someday!

I promised myself that I would wait to comment until your tale ( lol not tail) was done. But I can wait no longer. I love hearing your adventures, Plot. Thank you so much for sharring them.

Oh dear, with all this praise Plot's head won't fit into his hat

I'm glad Vincent's recovered SB. Plot would dearly like to meet her too one day, although after the unfortunate episode with Jasmine I think he may have to lay low for a while

Don't worry about Jasmine's reputation Annbax. A night with Plot will give her quite a bit of kudos with quite a few other four-legged-furries I can think of.

Plot's out visiting Mrs Plot at the moment - he said he may be gone some time  Despite their "arrangement" he obviously feels he needs to spend some quality time with her and the little plots.

Oh yes, and BEFORE I'm attacked by a neglected Rhino - and an offended Hippo, I'd just like to say that they and Plot had a grand time in Cheltenham and are still the best of friends.

Is that it :dunno: Any other plant or animal life I can offend :dunno:

No. Good. In that case I'm off to have my tea.

Plot The Rabbit

I do apologise for the delay in resuming my memoirs. I have just spent some time at The Hutch with Mrs Plot and The Little Plot. When it came to it, my conscience got the better of me and I came clean about my dalliance with Jasmine. It seemed only fair to both of the ladies in question. Mrs Plot, after some ranting and foot thumping, came to the conclusion that it was the price she had to pay for being entangled with an internet celebrity. Of course I did have some making up to do, but I think the least said about that the better. As for dear Jasmine, I shall always have the fondest memories of her, and our brief time together.

Now, I shall move on to more mundane matters (or more exciting depending on your perspective).

Wednesday 2nd July 2008

We’d been really lucky with the weather at the beginning of our trip, but Wednesday was looking as if it might not be so good – so it was decided that a trip to Meadowhall Shopping Centre was in order.

Sadly, Yorkshire Lass and Lhaewin left us that morning – but even the very clever ladies of TMB haven’t yet managed to be in two places at once, so it was unavoidable. After seeing them off, and the obligatory detours, the remaining members of the group arrived and did that strange coffee, shopping, lunching, shopping thing that you humans seem to enjoy so much.

A few rather nice purchases were made – Govi and Moonlustie brought very nice tops, Hegi bought gifts for her family and Macpy bought some watches – 3 to be accurate. She claims only one was for her – and, true to form, it was shiny and sparkly. Mistress brought a watch too, which was just shiny, not sparkly, but will make a pleasant change from the manky old thing she’s been wearing to work of late.

As it turned out, it didn’t actually rain a lot during the day – the worst of the downpour having been kind enough to restrict itself to night-time. But a good time was had by all, and in the evening we all tucked into fish and chips, purchased from the Broomhill Friery – although sadly it no longer has any connection with Sean.

I was thrilled to see the photos Southernbelle brought along – and I must agree with Mistress that “hubby” looked like a very nice chap – although that wasn’t QUITE the phrase she used! We watched another episode of Sharpe – and I’m currently banging my head on the keyboard trying to remember which one. Oh, my sacred whiskers, I’ve obviously spent too much time with CMOAMH, my mental faculties are in decline again.
But, whichever one it was, it was rounded off by a rousing chorus of Over The Hills, before bedtime.

It would seem there was some concern over my behaviour the previous night and I was escorted back to our room by Mistress in order to prevent a repeat performance, so poor Jasmine was left alone until the following morning.

It seems the combination of all the excitement, and living the daytime activities through the eyes of CMOAMH have DEFINITELY addled my bunny brain.

I’ve just been checking through various reports and diaries here on the Forum and find that, in fact, the episode of Sharpe which we watched on Wednesday was Regiment, which is a little disconcerting, because I thought we viewed this on Thursday!

So, somebody remind me, what DID we watch on the last night. I know we let Brandy choose, so maybe she knows.

I also got a little confused about our evening meals by the look of it. But that’s hardly surprising as I only nibbled on a little salad and otherwise resorted to the supply of carrots I’d brought with me. Fish and Chips on Tuesday, Pizza on Wednesday for the ladies, then.

So, to continue with my Diary …

Thursday 3rd July 2008

Ah, Thursday, possibly the best day of all, according to Mistress!

After a tour around some of Sean’s old haunts, the wonderful Moonlustie and Roslin drove everyone out into the countryside. Again, the weather was kinder than might have been expected. There were a few showers – and one short downpour – but that was during lunch and no-one got drenched at any point.

I’m rather glad about this, and so should everyone else be. Believe me, Mistress in her wetsuit and flippers is not a sight to be viewed on an empty stomach.

There are some lovely photographs which have been posted, of the remaining members of The Sheffield Thirteen on the “throne” OUTSIDE the lavatories at LadyBower. SB was only able to join in the evenings, and sadly by then Yorkshire Lass and Lhaewin had departed for Real Life and Adventures elsewhere. The eagle-eyed amongst you (aka anyone who is still concentrating at this point) will notice that Mooms was also absent. She’d taken the opportunity to escape – errr, I mean taken the opportunity to make a personal visit while she was in the area. And, NO. In case anyone’s worried, she didn’t have an invitation for lunch with Sean! As it turned out, her train journey to Leeds turned out to be a bit of an adventure, but she made it back safely to The Edge in one piece just before the rest of them.

However, as usual, I digress!

The next stop was a lovely country pub. With lovely food. And lovely views. After which the tour of the countryside continued with a wander around Castleton. Strangely, after stuffing themselves at lunch, no-one wanted to trek up the hill to the eponymous castle. What IS it with Forum ladies and shopping I wonder? Mistress bought a few souvenirs as did several others – who indulged themselves with items of jewellery and the like made from the local Blue John stone.

And then, suddenly, it was THE LAST NIGHT. I think to be honest we all felt rather sad. Our time together had been so enjoyable and had flown by all too quickly. As had become the tradition, we all gathered in the kitchen/lounge for food (I’m not even going to pretend I remember what it was – and asking Mistress would be, well, let’s say life is far too short to delve too deeply into the recesses of HER memory).

On the Tuesday we’d presented Yorkshire Lass with a gift to thank her for all her efforts in organising the event and, as it was Brandy’s birthday on Friday, we repeated the process – and allowed her to choose which Sharpe we would watch (see above re. confusion of CMOAMH and Plot – although if anyone actually expected accuracy here, I fear they were sadly deluded).

The final strains of Over The Hills in the dimly lit room certainly brought a bit of a tear to a few eyes and gave me the idea for writing a little song especially for The Sheffield Thirteen. As those of you who’ve read it will realise, Mistress thinks it was her idea and has taken the credit. Well, I’m used to that by now. It’s written into my Personal Aide to CMOAMH job contract as sub-clause something-or-other. And I know that YOU, my dear friends know who is really the brains in this outfit.

At this point I should mention that we had a collection – organised by my dear Aunty Annbax and Roslin – in aide of the National Osteoporosis Society. This was instead of contributing to the food they’d laid on for us when we arrived. A wonderful idea and I’m glad to report that funds are on their way to the Charity as we speak.

You will notice I referred to Aunty Annbax. The dear lady at one point kindly volunteered to adopt CMOAMH and myself. I do hope she doesn’t live to regret it *rolls eyes and laughs*.

We’re now reaching the end of our adventures in Sheffield. I’ve naturally read and enjoyed all the other accounts which have been posted and looked at the super photos everyone took. Mistress isn’t exactly what you’d call another David Bailey, so I’ve taken the liberty of suggesting she doesn’t post blurred, headless duplications.

Thank you to everyone who made me feel so welcome. It was truly an honour and a privilege to meet you. *Whispers* and thank you for being so patient with Mistress.

Referring back to the pictures in For Your Eyes Only – I’ll just fill in a gap there. Moonlustie posted a couple of pics leaving the way open for explanations. One is of my dear “acquaintance”, Jasmine. The other is of Aunty Annbax, proudly displaying her original signed card from myself, Plot The Rabbit. I do hope, by now, you’ve all managed to choose a favourite photo to stick on the back of yours.

So, all that remains of The Sheffield Diaries is Friday morning. Oh, and to say, in case you thought I was trying to hide something, that Jasmine and I did manage to sneak in a little quality time together during the night!

Friday 4th July 2008

Notable, not for being Independence Day, but rather for being the time for partings and journeys home, or in the case of some of us – on to adventures new.

We all got up bright and early to see Moonlustie and Hegi off safely. Although, their journey wasn’t entirely without incident. Luckily, Hegi made it to her plane on time, although Moonlustie’s return home took a little longer than originally anticipated.

Having then done the usual frantic – OMG, this all came OUT of the suitcase, why won’t it go back IN – thing, the remaining ladies met for The Last Breakfast. Thankfully Mistress didn’t try and do anything clever with loaves and fishes. Yes, I KNOW it’s the wrong analogy, but a little detail like that doesn’t usually stop her on these occasions.

And so, we ended rather as we’d begun. Annbax and Roslin made sure we were all safely on our way by taxi to the Railway Station, before starting their journey home. The Party Train Party I’m sure partied their way back to London before going their respective ways and Jenny, Hippo, Spike, Mistress and I wended our way to Cheltenham.

THE END

***

Mistress has (helpfully!) pointed out that Cheltenham isn’t in Sheffield, so the rest of my journal cannot really be included in The Sheffield Diaries. Thank you dear.

For those of you who are interested in The Cheltenham Diaries, please feel free to check into my Blog in the Mad Hatters Thread on Sunday. I’ll also post some details in the Sharpe’s News section as soon as I’ve been able to make some sense of Mistress’s photographs.

So, for now, a very big Bunny Hug to all my dear friends from Sheffield – and for those of you who couldn’t make it this year – Mistress and I hope to have the opportunity to meet you on another occasion.

Thank heavens someone knows what's what

To be honest, I think Plot was a little distracted by Jasmine.

And as for me - well, you didn't honestly expect me to keep track of what I'd done, did you

I remembered that and was just about to post! :-D

I don't think Plot was as interested in Sharpe having his temperature reduced, while naked, or he might have remembered! I'm sure I remember him hissing and booing at Simmerson, though!

Thank you Plot for your account. We all know the truth about who has the brains and creativity in your collaboration with Madhattress.gif , but we won't spoil her delusions. abighugs_gif
