Scorched Earth has raised its head again and is apparently in pre-production. No news whether Sean will still be attached or even interested in it.

Filming in Vancouver ...
Pre-production for Scorched Earth, a feature film from British director Peter Howitt (The Fixer, Reasonable Doubt), has gotten underway in Vancouver.
The movie, written by Bobby Mort (The Colbert Report) and Vancouver filmmaker Kevin Leeson, tells the story of a bounty hunter named Atticus Gage who tracks down criminals in a post-apocalyptic Earth
The script has been around for a few years and was being pitched to buyers at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2012 with Sean Bean (Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings) originally tabbed to play Atticus Gage.
There is no casting information on the movie's http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2392748/?ref_=nm_flmg_wr_1

I guess we shall just have to wait and see on this one. So far, for 2016, Sean has nothing officially in the "pipeline". Let's just hope this one is better than "The Lost Future", which wasn't awful, but could have had a better supporting cast.

He may well have things in the pipeline but is keeping his cards close to the vest. He doesn't seem to be the type to talk about projects that he is circling.

Looking even more likely that Scorched Earth will go ahead and seems that Sean is still attached. According to this site, filming starts in Vancouver in a couple of weeks time :

"Sean Bean as a bounty hunter in a post-environmental-collapse scorched Earth. Billions have died but the survivors have rudimentary laws. Count me in for this Mad Max-esque thrillerBounty hunter Atticus Gage embarks on his biggest bounty hunt ever in the Badlands.

Brad Turner directs A Scorched Earth based on a screenplay by Bobby Mort and Kevin Leeson.

A Scorched Earth is expected to film in metro Vancouver from February 8th to March 7th (dates subject to change), according to the Directors Guild of Canada – BC production list.”

What do we think? I am guessing that if Sean has stayed with the project this far, he must see something in it.

I think this sounds interesting - Sean all menacing, tough and craggy - Lovely!
It looks as if Peter Howitt is no longer directing though. Shame, as I like his stuff. Does anyone remember him as an actor, playing the oldest son in "Bread"? He was marvellous.

If Sean IS still involved, I guess he will be heading for Canada this week? We might get some airport shots, with any luck.

Looks like Sean is no longer attached to Scorched Earth. His bounty hunter part is being played by a woman, Gina Carano, and John Hannah is also starring.

 Shame. Though this must be the first time that a part Sean has walked away from is picked up by a woman!!

Would this explain the possible "Escape to the country"?
