World Cup 2010

Post by naranja » Sat Jun 12, 2010 7:47 pm

Ok, Argentines love football (soccer) and the World Cup is the uppermost epiphany of our passion. I'm skeptic that our coach Maradona will take our group further to the finals, but I'll probably watch all the matches and choose my own favourites anyway.

Is anyone here also interested in this world championship and would like to talk about it? Let's talk!

Oh, dear! That's sad, as I wanted England to win (sorry, Americans). What a disaster for Green! But as my father used to say, better draw than lose. :-)

Argentina won, but I'm still not convinced.

I think both teams played well. USA were great on defense and England worked together well with the ball. I cringed when Green let the ball get away from him though. I wouldn't want to be him in the locker room after the match.

I watch as many matches as I can with work and all.
Tonight will be Germany's first match. When they manage to get beyong the group stage, everything is possible, I think.

We were watching on HD and ITV managed to lose the picture at the moment of England's goal! Cue cry of anguish from Dave. I had to laugh!

I do feel so sorry for our poor goalkeeper, though.

Good luck to everybody, whatever their team. Image

Ooohhh...I can tell there is passion here.
Alright ladies.. no calling names.
I'm hoping for the best for our US team.
Knowing they don't have much of a chance.
No "You Wanker Yank!"

Dialogos. . I would never use such language to another supporter (well, not out loud anyway) ;-) Germany well deserved win, though it should've been against eleven men! Love watching the Netherlands play (lots of Dutch playing for Arsenal over the years! ) Ok. . .so what happened to Cameroon?

Germany went quite well at their first game, I'm impressed!
4-0 at a World Cup is a great score! It does intimidate the other teams.

:cheer:

Many people I know are supporting Holland, as the Dutch have the best group, though I'm backing Brazil - don't say it to my fellow countrymen, for Argentina and Brazil are longtime fierce rivals when it comes to football.

Brazil was a disappointment!

On the other hand, Argentina had a show today, 4-1! I'm so excited! I wasn't taking Maradona that seriously, but I must concede a score like that is just what we need to feel happy about our own national team. ;-)

And this is the World Cup of the underdogs! North Korea posed a hard challenge to Brazil, and Switzerland and Greece doing a great job! I like that the lesser teams are really trying to make an appearance;

Shame about the French team in regards to the competition but I am so glad the coach is on his way home. Disgusting behaviour! Things are really going crazy this time round. Roll on tomorrow and England. Lots of schools and work places are screening the match tomorrow. Really cool as the match starts at 3 o'clock here and school pick up time is around 3.30. So i'll be watching with lots of parents, teachers and 200 kids!!! Come on England!!!!!!!
