I don't think I've ever seen a production of Julius Caesar with an Italian in it
But then it was written from an Englishman's point of view
Shakespeare only had The Globe performers to use back then so maybe that set the tradition ?????

There must be Italian versions of the Bard performed

I just love the Italian accent - it purrs and sings

BUT J.C. would not be speaking Italian, but Latin! I lived in Rome for a while, and it was like living in the middle of the grand opera chorus at La Scala - EVERYONE was a soloist.

it is a pity, but the poor man must have a rest and something obviously has to give. I thought the first link could have chosen a more flattering picture of them both!!
